Dear Doubting Brother:
Great point, because the last thing that I mailed
him was a copy of the web site Watchtower Quotes.
My impression is that he took a look at it.

A Ghost from the past
An ugly fight between two friends can damage a friendly relationship
almost irreparably. Around 17 months ago, my best friend in the
organization and I, severed our ties and goodwill because
of the Watchtower Society. You see he was always very supportive of the Society even after the
United Nations fiasco, and my position regarding the Society was that
it was questionable at best.Wanting to renew our friendship
He expressed wishes to become friends again which was totally a
surprise for me, considering his undying loyalty to the Watchtower.
However, I do want to reconsider the friendship again. What would you do?
How would you handle a "ghost from the past" trying to rekindle
a friendship with you especially if they were your best friend? What advice can you offer in letting bygones be bygones?
Thank you and respectfully,

The Loaded Language
The hot button words that placed a label and
identification on everything that was considered
either good or bad.It occurred to me that the organization had many
expressions, and two that are suddenly recalled to
mind are "the truth" and "apostate."The Motivating Factor
I am seriously considering screen writing a movie detailing
the accounts of what happens to individuals who become
involved in an organization such as the Watchtower Society.Total Recall
Can you recall as many terms that we used in the
organization as possible? If you can—can you please list them, or find a link to a
similar thread and post it?Thank you and respectfully,

off of the drawing board it can help thousands. -

Can you first tell us something about yourself?
What are your skills?

What are you willing to do or can reasonably do?

True Lies— and the Watchtower Society
During a recent telephone conversation a friend mention-
ed a possible reason why the Society was motivated to
write the reasoning book. Although, we both speculated
on the reasons why, it should provide a thought provok-
ing conversation.The Reasoning book
He mentioned and I happen to agree, that the Society
may have wrote that book not so much for the house-
holders in the territory, but to use against former
or ex-Witnesses should you encounter them. The Internet
We also felt that the Society is terrified of the internet and
they will do anything to demonize it, in order to keep the
rank and file away from it.
First we reasoned that they will attack it in the worst way
listing pornography as the major culprit. Then they will
move onto chat rooms and provide some examples of
molesters on the internet and then when the masses
agree, attack the entire internet as being from Satan. This is just speculation, but what do you think?

The truth about the donation arrangement
by Wolfgirl ini never knew this...just found it today.
made me giggle.. payment of sales tax on literatureon 17 january1990 the u.s. supreme court made a ruling that sales tax must be paid on religious literature.
the following month, a letter from the watchtower society went out to all congregations stating that there would no longer be a set price for literature but that they would be given to the public on a donation basis.

Thanksgiving ? Have you left the mind control?
by AK - Jeff inwe always did the 'family thing' on t-day, excusing our dinner in that manner.
many witnesses i knew did the same.. now, i proudly do it as thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and not one ounce of guilt.. this year i do it with a 7 foot fully lit xmas tree in the lr.
no guilt there either.. any still struggling with leftover jw holiday guilt syndrome?.

Dear Jeff:
Gobble, Gobble this year and all remaining years.
Still a little on the fence regarding Ho, Ho, Ho though.

Met a small group of Jehovah's Witnesses today

first my reaction was that i was not interested and i let them know.
that as i was closing the door.. however, after i closed the door it dawned on me to question them.

The wanderer
My thoughts regarding today's experience.
There were mixed emotions on my behalf
including excitement, depression, anger,
and regret.
Excitement because the Witnesses did
a poor job in defending against the
United Nations issue.
Depression and regret because I still
cannot believe that I was programmed
to think the way they wanted me to
for years on end.
Anger because these people are in
such a state of denial that you
would have to hit them over the
head with a rock to make them
understand anything.
Respectfully,
